Charge Description Master and Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG)Charges

Important Information About Exeter Hospital’s List of Current Standard Charges

All hospitals are required to make available a list of their current standard charges via the internet in a machine-readable format and to update this information at least annually.  Exeter Hospital has complied with this requirement by posting a comprehensive list of charges for each inpatient and outpatient service and item it provides.  It is important to recognize the standard charges that are posted do not necessarily reflect what a patient ultimately will pay for a variety of reasons, including the periodic updating of these charges.  Therefore, the listing of standard charges may not be a helpful tool to estimate a patient’s ultimate out-of-pocket responsibility or to compare the cost of receiving care at different hospitals.
To obtain a more reliable indication of the cost of a particular item or service, we recommend patients contact our Price Estimate Line at (603)580-7605 or visit our online Patient Charge Estimator at and obtain information about the likely cost of care based upon the existence and type of insurance coverage each patient might have.

Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) Charges

The information provided is a comprehensive list of DRGs for inpatient services at Exeter Hospital and the average charges associated with each. Every inpatient stay is unique based on patient needs, diagnosis, level of care needed, and therefore charges relate to inpatient stays can differ on an individual patient basis. This list does not necessarily reflect what a patient ultimately pays for services and therefore may not be a helpful tool to estimate out of pocket responsibility or to compare hospital costs.
