Radiologists:

QP_NapBC_AccredBreastCent_VERT_rgb-(1).jpgYour breast imaging study will be interpreted by affiliated Board Certified Radiologists who work in the Center.  Each of our four affiliated radiologists interpret over 2,000 mammograms a year, almost four times the standard requirement for accreditation.

Primary Care Physicians:

Stay involved in every step of your breast care experience.  Your primary care physician will be informed of all your imaging results. If an abnormality is found, your primary care provider will be working with the team to insure all the necessary follow up care is arranged.

Breast Care Surgeons:

Sometimes an abnormality requires further attention.  A surgeon will assist in diagnosing breast abnormalities.  If you are recommended to consult with a surgeon, we will work with your primary care provider to insure you receive a timely and convenient referral and appointment.

Pathologists:

Pathologists are physicians with expertise in establishing medical diagnoses based on the examination of tissues and cells.  If your breast abnormality requires a biopsy, it will be examined by an experienced, board-certified affiliated pathologist and co-reviewed by a second pathologist.  Several of our affiliated pathologists are also certified in cytopathology and have completed special training fellowships in breast pathology.

Technologists:

Our Registered Mammography Technologists are credentialed by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists and also earn advanced certification by achieving   mammography registration (RTRM). This special registry insures your x-ray exam is being performed by someone who is specifically trained and tested in mammography.  In addition, our mammography technologists are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education every two years in order to maintain the most current and up to date knowledge in the field of mammography and breast imaging.

Our Registered Sonographers are credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiological Technologists.  This special registry insures your ultrasound exam is being performed by someone who is specifically trained in diagnostic ultrasound.  In addition, our ultrasound technologists are required to complete 30 hours of continuing education every three years in order to maintain the most current and up to date knowledge in the field of ultrasound and breast imaging.

Our Breast MRI Technologists are registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) and American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT). In addition, our MRI technologists are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education every two years in order to maintain the most current and up to date knowledge in the field of MRI and breast imaging.
