About the Beyond the Rainbow Fund

The Beyond the Rainbow Fund was founded in 2002 by Anne-Marie Viviano, a Seacoast resident and former Exeter Hospital patient, to provide financial and wellness assistance to patients and their families who face hardship as a result of a cancer diagnosis. Her vision was to relieve individuals of outside stressors so that they could better focus their energy on healing their bodies and minds.

Through generous support, the Beyond the Rainbow Fund covers expenses, including rent or mortgage payments, utility bills, transportation, medication, groceries, wigs and wellness treatments. It has become an invaluable resources for hundreds of Seacoast-area cancer patients.

In May, 2009, Anne-Marie passed away after a courageous 14-year battle with breast cancer. Her remarkable journey and resilience of spirit continues to inspire and provide hope to so many, while her legacy continues through the Beyond the Rainbow Fund.

All proceeds from Kites Against Cancer benefit Exeter Hospital's Beyond the Rainbow Fund. Your support is appreciated now more than ever as we help patients navigate financial hardships that impact their cancer treatment and healing.

In Memory of Beloved Community Leader Jim S. Dill

Since 2022, the Trick or Treat Trot has been dedicated to the memory of James S. (Jim) Dill of Stratham  His personal battle with cancer ended in June of 2021, but his impact on the communities of the Seacoast continues. “For over 30 years, my dad was a big part of the community. He coached all of our teams growing up. A family man, super-selfless, he always put others before himself,” said Brandon Dill, Jim’s oldest son. “He made a positive impact on so many people’s lives.” When Jim was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer, he and his family turned to Exeter Hospital for care. “Thankfully, Exeter Hospital sprang right into action,” said Brandon. “I can’t say enough good things about the whole team at Exeter.” While Jim was undergoing treatments, he was able to be with his family and continue to work at Lindt USA, where he worked for 17 years, in part because of the proximity of his care team at Exeter Hospital’s Michael and Jeanne Falzone Center for Cancer Care. “My dad said, ‘If I had to go to Boston 3-5 times a week, I don’t know if I would have done it’,” according to Brandon. “The whole time, he kept working. He even went to the office dressed up as a Pilgrim and handed out turkeys to the team, even though he was in the middle of chemo.” Jim’s leadership and personal commitment to supporting important causes, particularly healthcare in the Seacoast, helped make the Trick or Treat Trot especially important to him.
