“Thank you for always being there. Thank you for valuing Gram’s quality of life and making it worth living…Thank you for your professionalism balanced with your humanity…You give hope to scared people. You are all making a big difference in a lot of lives in this corner of the world. I am grateful to have had this time in Gram’s hospice care to get to know and witness heroes in action.”

“She called to say how much she appreciates the mailings that the Bereavement Team mails out. She took care of her father up until he passed several months ago. She says that it’s been a difficult year. In addition to losing her dad, she lost a sister and her job. So days go by without anyone acknowledging her loss and when she gets something in the mail from the team it makes her happy to know that someone hasn’t forgotten her. She hasn’t felt the need to reach out but it is comforting to know the Bereavement Team is available to her. She also stated that the care her dad received from the agency was excellent starting in homecare and transitioning to hospice with everyone kind and knowledgeable.”

Phone call from Carol C.
“It is with a heavy but grateful heart that I write this message just one week after the passing of my loving husband Malcolm…The last several months of Malcolm’s life, and my life with him, were remarkably happy and comfortable, all because of the principles and practices of all of you at Rockingham VNA-Hospice who helped care for him with such tenderness, patience and expertise…Martha, volunteer coordinator - you were always ready to help find someone to step in when I had necessary times away…you knew just the kind of people who would/could work best for our needs…And Tracy, who was on the phone when I called with the news that Malcolm had passed on…The naturalness, the ease, the calm of her response and then her visit and the tasks she needed to do were all carried out with such peacefulness. I could only feel calm and peaceful myself despite the end of Malcolm’s life. Our lives were made better by the tender loving care of every one of you.”

“I am very grateful to all of you for the professional help that I have received and continue to receive from you…I am at the point where we are trying to do dressing changes 3x/week, down from daily. Rockingham VNA & Hospice is a big part of my life story. I moved from Vermont to New Hampshire to accept a position with you and decided to stay in New Hampshire. Now, in my time of need, you have come to my aid. I am very blessed to consider all of you as part of my life and, indeed, part of my family. Thank you for all you do for our community.”

“To all the people who cared for Bob over the many years, my sincere thanks for the inspiration and joy you have brought to him. Some roads in life are more difficult. You have made his journey lighter. As you cared for Bob, you also cared for me and I am eternally grateful. I have no doubt Bob remembers each you every day and so do I.

“Dear everyone, just wanted to touch base with you all and let you know how much we appreciate all you did for our mother and ourselves over these last few years of her life. You helped us work with her with love and compassion and humor and made the journey so much easier. We especially want to thank Tracy, her nurse who put up with mom’s “complaining days” and our cares and concerns with unfailing good humor and professionalism. To Marion who brought a breath of fresh air and sunshine mom’s days and did her work cheerfully…Thanks for your patience for all the times you came and she said ‘not today!”, to Katherine who showed so much concern for her safety and welfare. To David, to whom she looked forward to talking to about the Lord and her faith. To Julie, who was so patient and kind and brightened up Mom’s Thursdays and stepped in when we needed a hand. To Joannie who stepped in with care and concern to help us through the last final days. And of course, Cathy who was with us at the beginning and the end.  To all of you whose names I may have forgotten or never knew and gave your time and yourselves, Thank you! You are all truly doing God’s work.”

“Sue came before Thanksgiving and I was crying, I was depressed and thinking we didn't have any money to get a holiday dinner and I was looking forward to it.  Well she showed up the next day with a huge delicious holiday dinner!  She went above and beyond for us to go all the way to pick up the food and stop by when she wasn't working to give it to us!  It made our day!”

“Thank you to the three lovely ladies you sent to take care of me, and get me self-sufficient again. Robin has so much compassion and a way for you to feel so comfortable teaching to bathe and dress yourself again. Kara took such good care of me helping my shoulder to get better, and Amy was such a delight in helping me to walk better and showing me how to exit and get back into my home. You gifted me with three wonderful caring women and I just wanted you to know how much I appreciated them.”
