Wound Services
The Center for Wound Healing at Exeter Hospital provides a comprehensive outpatient treatment approach, combining evidenced-based treatment techniques, patient education, and support to maximize the wound healing process.
The types of wounds treated include:
- Burns
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Pressure ulcers
- Problem surgical wounds
- Radiation wounds
- Skin tears
- Ulcers due to poor circulation
- Venous ulcers

All primary care physician referrals can be faxed to (603) 580-6919. Patients are no longer required to have a physician referral to make any appointment with the Wound Center.
Medicare and most major insurance companies are accepted. Contact your insurance carrier for specific coverage information.
Ostomy Services
Exeter Hospital also offers physician directed care for patients with intestinal or urinary diversion. Each case is managed by a board certified ostomy nurse. Services include:
- Pre-operative ostomy site marking and education
- Ostomy self-care education
- Peristomal skin evaluation and care
- Stomal care including problem solving for stomal equipment and fitting, skin irritation, rash, leakage, odor and ulcerations
Ostomy Support Group
This is a group which provides education and support for patients and/or families of individuals who have had an intestinal or urinary diversion. The group meets monthly and is lead by a board certified ostomy nurse.
