Approximately 65% of accidents on the job are associated with substance abuse, and employees abusing drugs file significantly more worker's compensation claims than non-abusers.

COEH drug testing includes both Department of Transportation (DOT) and non-DOT type drug abuse testing. After hours testing is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

A DOT drug screen tests a specimen for five drugs (Opiates, PCP, Amphetamines, Marijuana and Cocaine). Our Collectors are trained and certified in Drug and Alcohol testing.

A non-DOT screen can test for more drugs than DOT testing, including Barbituates, Benzodiazepines, Methadone, Methaqualone, Propxyphene and others. This is useful in a number of situations:

      • Pre-employment Testing - Random Selection & Testing, Reasonable Cause, Post-Accident
      • Return to Duty Testing & Monitoring Programs
      • Breath Alcohol Testing
      • A urine alcohol test can be added if desired

COEH offers one hour non-DOT Drug testing turnaround. For DOT testing, turnaround is typically 24 hours for negative results and 48 hours for positive results. Employers are contacted with results verbally. Strict measures are always taken to ensure confidentiality of all information.

Did you know that several states offer Worker's Compensation discounts to companies that maintain certified drug-free workplace programs? If you do not have a drug testing policy, COEH can help you draft your policy and implement a program designed to meet your needs.
